Peter

Peter grew up on the Seiser Alm - in the midst of the magnificent mountain landscape that early on became both his home and workplace. At the Ritsch Schwaige, his parents’ house, he discovered his passion for hospitality.

After several years working in the family business, Peter took the step into self-employment and took over the Goldknopf at the end of the 1980s, initially together with his sister. Soon, however, his wife Heidi lovingly joined him by his side. Together, they continued to develop the house over many years – from a cozy, somewhat aging hotel into a modern Alpine hotel on the Seiser Alm. Even today, Peter remains involved with heart and soul, supporting his son Patrick and his daughter-in-law Nathalie wherever he can.

“Strength lies in tranquility.”

Heidi

Heidi came to the Alm at the age of 15 as a young waitress - and found not only a workplace there, but also the love of her life. At the Ritsch Schwaige, she met Peter, and their shared story began. When Peter took over the Goldknopf, Heidi followed him with great courage, warmth, and determination.

The beginnings were not always easy: a new hotel, many responsibilities - and soon their first son, Patrick (27 February 1990), was born. Step by step, Heidi grew into roles in the office, organization, and reception, taking on more and more responsibility. With the birth of their second son, Fabian, on 13 June 1995, the family was complete.

To this day, Heidi supports her two sons - Patrick at the hotel and Fabian at the Williamshütte - always with a listening ear, a cheerful spirit, and helping hands.

“What you do with your heart will turn out well.”

Patrick

Patrick grew up at the Goldknopf and feels deeply connected to the Seiser Alm. From an early age, he knew that this special place would be his future. He attended hotel management school with a focus on culinary arts and later gained valuable experience in various renowned establishments - from five-star hotels to gourmet restaurants.

In 2014, he returned to the family business with extensive know-how, fresh ideas, and great enthusiasm, and has been running the hotel together with his wife Nathalie ever since. With great passion, Patrick recently started a new project close to his heart: he now also runs his own farm in order to offer guests even more high-quality, homemade products in the future - from meat to many other specialties.

“I am living my dream.”

Fabian

Fabian also discovered his love for gastronomy and decided to train as a chef. After gaining valuable experience in various establishments, he was drawn back to the Seiser Alm. For a long time, he supported his parents and his brother at the hotel before choosing to follow his own path.

The Williamshütte became his personal project: with great creativity and dedication, he transformed it into the Wild O’Williams Hütte, which he still runs with great joy today. Fabian is also the proud father of a daughter, Hanni Malfertheiner, who was born on July 21, 2022, and lives with him at the Williamshütte.

“Together and for one another.”

Nathalie

Nathalie comes from the beautiful village of Ratschings and discovered her passion for hospitality at a young age.

Through various jobs in the hospitality industry, she eventually made her way to the Seiser Alm and worked as a waitress at the Tuffalm. It was there that she met Patrick – and the two quickly became a well-coordinated team, both professionally and privately. Today, Nathalie runs the Goldknopf together with her husband and is the proud mother of three cheerful boys: Luis, Emil, and Hugo.

“Came up here to stay.”
